Camping in the heart of
Eryri National Park

Camp on the shores of Llyn Gwynant in the Eryri National Park. It’s an ideal Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon base camp in the most beautiful valley in Wales. Walk up the mountain directly from the site or enjoy the natural beauty of the woodlands, lake and river.

Stay at our campsite - it is for nature lovers

Camping is mostly for tents on grass – with vehicles around the fields behind big stones, not beside tents.  Small vans have bays near hedgerows with gravel hard standing.  This is not a concrete motorhome or caravan park, the ground is natural – and can get muddy.  Though busy in major holidays and high summer we like it to be peaceful – no sound systems are allowed and quiet is required after 11 pm.

You can go swimming, boating, climbing and take great walks directly from the site. We also have on-site food outlets and a brewery with tap room – so you don’t have to leave!

The environment matters – with state-of-the-art off-grid systems, solar power, water from our private bore-hole and on-site waste treatment, we ensure a low environmental footprint.

The campsite has all you need to be comfortable: information on facilities, food and drink options and more

Our place - it’s worth exploring

The campsite lies on the shores of Llyn Gwynant in the Nantgwynant valley, at the heart of Eryri National Park (formerly Snowdonia). This is an ancient and beautiful valley carved by glaciers more than ten thousand years ago. A glacial moraine lies behind reception with steep slopes up to the mountains on one side of the lake.

More gentle forested slopes on the other side of the valley include the fields of Hafod Lwyfog farm. This is a stunning landscape well worth exploring, and the campsite is a perfect base for discovering nature or for boating, swimming, walking, climbing and treks up the mountain Yr Wyddfa.

This is a deep-water lake with soul and where other creatures live

The mountain farm and ancient woodlands on the valley slopes have wonderful wildlife

Some routes up yr Wyddfa and other treks are accessible from the campsite
